Tuesday is expected to begin with clouds covering large swathes of the island, which will produce morning rain on parts of the coast.

The rain will spread inland and into the mountains as the day goes on, with the odd isolated storm not ruled out.

Temperatures will rise to 25 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts and 14 degrees Celsius in the mountains.

Overnight, the skies will be largely clear, with temperatures set to drop to 11 degrees Celsius inland, 13 degrees Celsius on the coast, and a chilly six degrees Celsius in the mountains.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny, with isolated clouds at times and possibly rain in the mountains. Heavier cloud cover and isolated showers will be the order of the day for Friday.

Temperatures will remain largely stable through the rest of the week.
