Polis has demanded a political decision to support the right of residents in the remote area to proper medical care in a modern hospital.
The issue was raised again on Friday by Polis Chrysochous mayor Yiotis Papachristofi in a meeting with Health Minister Michael Damianos, in the presence of municipal council members and MPs.
Polis is lobbying for a new, modern hospital, which will provide quality medical services to the residents of the broader area.
Papachristofi also proposed that the new hospital doubled up as a rehabilitation centre.
In the meantime, the health minister was asked to help solve problems at the existing hospital, including operation and staffing.
