The three 24-year-old menwho attacked a taxi after its driver refused to drive them to the hotel in Larnaca in which they were staying were remanded in custody for a single day on Sunday.

The three appeared in court, standing accused of being drunk and disorderly and of having caused malicious damage.

They were arrested on Saturday morning after a taxi driver reported to the police that three young men had asked for a ride to their hotel. He said he had refused because they were drunk, but that the three men had begun to attack his vehicle.

The Larnaca police’s deputy director Harris Hadjiyiasemi said the taxi driver had then called the police, who arrived and arrested the trio.
