The justice minister said on Thursday that three new assistant chiefs of police will be appointed by the police chief.

“It is a pending issue that we will address as soon as possible,” Justice Minister Marios Hartsiotis said.

When asked about how soon the transfer will take place, he said that the ministry is not in charge of that but that it would be soon.

“The justice ministry does not interfere in the issue of transfers. It’s an issue concerning the leadership of the police.”
