Stretches of the Nicosia-Limassol highway, as well as on the Limassol-Paphos highway will be temporarily closed for road works next week, the Department of Public Works announced on Thursday.

From Monday April 28 starting at 8pm to Tuesday April 29 ending at 5.30am, asphalt resurfacing works will take place on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the direction headed to Limassol, near the Kotsiatis exit.

During this time all three lanes (in the direction headed to Limassol) will be closed for a stretch of about 3km. Traffic along this stretch of road will be diverted onto one of the lanes of the opposite direction.

The exit/entry to Kotsiatis will likewise be closed during this time, with traffic diverted to the Ayia Varvara exit and the old B1 Nicosia-Limassol road.

Also from Wednesday April 30 starting at 8pm to Thursday May 1 ending at 5.30am, asphalt resurfacing works will take place along the exit/entry towards Pera Khorio and Kotsiatis, in the Nicosia-Limassol direction. Motorists are instructed to use the next exit at Ayia Varvara. In the same evening, exit from Kotsiatis to Nicosia will be closed, with drivers instructed to use the old B1 Nicosia-Limassol road via the Halepianes junction.

In addition, from April 28 starting at 9pm to April 30 ending at 6am, traffic barriers will be replaced on stretches of the Limassol-Nicosia and Limassol-Paphos highways, from the Skarinou exit up until the Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock) exit, in both directions. During these times, certain sections on the fast lane will be closed for stretches of 200 metres in each case.

The department also said that starting on Thursday April 24 and lasting for six months, traffic will be diverted along a stretch of the coastal road from Larnaca to Dhekelia. Traffic will be diverted from the Lebay hotel up until the Radisson Beach hotel. The diversion will be via Galaxias Street in Oroklini.

Lastly, the road connecting Oroklini to the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road will be closed (both directions) starting on April 24 and for a period of two months. Traffic will be diverted via Bella Pais Street, Olympon Street and Athinon Street in Oroklini.
