There will be no water cuts in Larnaca this summer, the district’s water authority announced on Tuesday.

The Larnaca District Organisation (EOA) confirmed that existing water reserves, combined with ongoing water-saving strategies, are enough to ensure a stable supply throughout the hot season.

During a board meeting, EOA Larnaca president Angelos Hadjicharalambous outlined the progress made in managing the region’s water stocks more efficiently. He said efforts to reduce losses – a longstanding issue for the authority – have been paying off.

Targeted upgrades and regular monitoring of the infrastructure have helped secure a steady water flow, it said.

These actions were described as vital in preventing shortages and maintaining control over distribution.

Still, residents are being urged to continue using water wisely.

The authority stressed the importance of public cooperation to keep things stable and avoid the need for restrictions in future months.
