The Index of Industrial Output Prices in Cyprus rose by 0.2 per cent in March 2025, reaching 121.9 units, based on 2021 as the reference year set at 100 points, according to official data released by the statistical service.

Compared to February 2025, the increase was evenly matched by a 0.2 per cent rise over March 2024, indicating modest annual and monthly growth.

However, for the period from January to March 2025, the index fell by 0.3 per cent compared with the same period in 2024, highlighting a slight overall decline in early-year industrial output prices.

In March 2025, the index increased across all major sectors on a monthly basis.

Mining and quarrying saw the highest rise at 2.8 per cent, followed by electricity supply at 1.0 per cent.

Water supply and materials recovery recorded a 0.2 per cent increase, while manufacturing grew by 0.1 per cent.

On a year-on-year basis, mining and quarrying led with a significant increase of 7.4 per cent.

Water supply and materials recovery rose by 1.8 per cent, and manufacturing recorded a 0.5 per cent increase.

In contrast, the electricity supply sector saw a 1.7 per cent decline compared to March 2024.

Within the manufacturing sector, several divisions reported annual increases in output prices.

The manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment rose by 6.8 per cent.

The category covering furniture, other manufacturing, and repair and installation of machinery and equipment increased by 4.0 per cent.

The manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel and leather products grew by 3.1 per cent.

Paper, paper products and printing saw a rise of 2.7 per cent.

The production of refined petroleum products, chemicals, chemical products, and pharmaceutical products increased by 2.5 per cent.

Machinery and equipment, including motor vehicles and other transport equipment, recorded a rise of 1.9 per cent.

The only recorded decrease was in the manufacture of food products, beverages, and tobacco products, which declined by 1.5 per cent compared to March 2024.
