Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides is set to travel to Athens on Tuesday for a brief but significant visit focused on defence and technology.

The president will begin his trip with a stop at Hellas Sat, where he will tour the satellite company’s facilities. Hellas Sat is co-owned by Cyprus and plays a key role in the country’s communications infrastructure.

Later in the day, at 1.30pm local time, President Christodoulides will arrive at the defence exhibition Athens (Defea) 2025. The international event showcases the latest in defence equipment and cybersecurity systems.

As part of the visit, the president will tour the pavilion of the republic of Cyprus, underlining the country’s role in regional security and innovation.

He will be joined by the director of his office, Charalambos Charalambous, deputy government spokesman Yiannis Antoniou, and other officials.

The president is expected to return to Cyprus in the afternoon.
