Residents of a house in Engomi escaped without injury on Saturday after a fire broke out and extensively damaged the roof of the building.

The fire brigade was deployed with three fire engines after being alerted to the blaze.

Firefighters remained at the scene continuing efforts to bring the fire fully under control.

Investigators are expected to examine the cause of the fire once it has been fully extinguished.
