Coronavirus: 5,504 checks, 78 booked

Police proceeded with 5,504 checks for violations of Covid-19 decrees in 24 hours from Monday until Tuesday and booked 78 persons, including two owners of businesses, as a result.

In Nicosia, 2,120 checks were carried out, in Limassol 1,002, in Larnaca 840, in Paphos 698, in Famagusta 482 and in Morphou 342.

20 individuals were fined in Nicosia, 35 in Limassol, 10 in Larnaca, 11 in Paphos, and one each in Famagusta and in the Morphou district.

Marine police conducted 20 inspections but did not record any illegalities.
