A 32-year-old man is in critical condition in Nicosia general hospital after a labour accident in Paralimni, police said on Thursday.

The man has a head injury and internal bleeding on his brain.

According to the police, the man was transferred to Famagusta general hospital early on Wednesday after he was injured painting a house under construction.

Due to the seriousness of his condition the man was transferred via ambulance to Nicosia general hospital where he will undergo surgery.

He is currently in the intensive care unit.

Paralimni police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
