Coronavirus: 85 people and businesses booked

ΚΟΡΩΝΟΪΟΣ ΜΕΤΡΑ ΑΠΑΓΟΡΕΥΣΗ ΚΥΚΛΟΦΟΡΙΑΣ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΣ

Police fined 85 individuals and establishments for breaking the health ministry’s decree against the spread of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The fines were a result of 9,975 checks.

According to the police, 16 people were fined in Nicosia after 2,534 checks, and nine in Larnaca after 1,231 checks.

In Limassol, police booked 28 citizens and two establishments after 2,654 checks.

Seven people and three establishments were fined in Paphos as a result of 1,435 checks, while in Famagusta after 982 checks police fined 18 citizens and one establishment.

Another 515 checks in the Morphou area and 21 checks by port and maritime police were performed without resulting in any fines.

Another person was fined from 603 checks from the traffic police nationwide.

The country has been in lockdown since last Sunday and no movement is allowed between 9pm and 5am.
