Speeding motorist deprived of driving licence until court hearing

Larnaca court

The Larnaca district court on Wednesday temporarily took away the driving licence of a 24-year-old man, who on January 3 was caught driving at 207kmph – more than twice the speed limit – on the highway near Kofinou.

The court, after setting March 9 as the date for a hearing, in the meantime, ordered that until then the motorist be deprived of his driving licence.

Shortly before 11m on January 3, a police patrol along the highway in the Kofinou area caught the 24-year-old speeding.
