Boys found trying to steal from water vending machine

Five boys in the Famagusta district, aged between 14 and 16, were found trying to break into a coin-operated vending machine on Thursday night.

According to the police, the boys were trying to steal from the machine, as they were seen at the scene kicking it.

Two of the boys were immediately taken into custody, while the other three were later identified and called to appear at the local police station, as they managed to flee the scene after the arrival of the police.

The owner of the vending machine was also summoned to the station and estimated the damage to his property at €150.

The boys were released pending being called to court at a later date.
