Batch of frozen peppers recalled

Recalled Peppers 2

The health ministry’s public health service recalled on Friday a batch of imported frozen peppers from the Cypriot market due to the detection of a non-approved pesticide.

The EU’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) reported abnormally high levels of the pesticide Chlorpyriphos, which is not approved for use in the EU, in a batch of frozen grilled red and yellow peppers by the brand Ardo.

The public health service has already asked retailers to recall the product. Meanwhile, members of the public who might have already bought some are asked to check the packaging for the information below.

Brand name: Ardo

Barcode: 5411361017708

Batch number: 710271

Weight: 1000 g

Best before date: 03/2023

Consumers are advised to refrain from consuming the product and to return it to their point of purchase.
