Two arrested after burglary tools found

Larnaca police on Thursday evening arrested two men after burglary tools were found in their car.

Traffic police officers stopped the car driven by a 40-year-old man, who was with a 25-year-old passenger, at 10.30pm for an inspection.

They discovered the driver had no driver’s licence, was not insured and the vehicle was not registered.

In the vehicle the officers found an iron cutter, screwdrivers and a bag which contained a hood and two pairs of gloves.

After they were arrested an investigation revealed an arrest warrant was pending against the 40-year-old who was wanted for cases of burglary and theft.

The two men are expected to be remanded later by the Larnaca court.
