Revamped landscape for Phinikoudes sculptures

Foinikoudes Artworks2

Landscaping works to improve the appearance of the Phinikoudes beach area were recently ordered by the Larnaca municipality and the local branch of the tourism development board (Etap).

The project involved paving the area around the two sculptures on Athinon Avenue and installing lights to better display them, a joint press release on Tuesday said.

In addition, Etap contributed a small pier by the Mediaeval Castle, with the works executed by the municipality.

Both initiatives were supported by the deputy ministry of tourism as part of general efforts to upgrade and improve the island’s tourist offerings.

“These efforts collectively aim at establishing Phinikoudes beach as a touristic reference point for Cyprus, for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike,” the press release read.

The various landscaping and improvement works that have been constantly running along with larger infrastructure projects

Thanks to the constant running of various landscaping and improvement works, as well as larger infrastructure projects that have been completed or are in the works, the press release said, “we can safely say that Larnaca has significantly improved its image and appeal”.
