Memory lane: the art deco architecture of Miami Beach

Florida’s popular resort city has undeniable allure – whether on or off its famous shore. And in this video, we take a walking tour around Miami Beach to view its famous art deco buildings, among the world’s densest examples of this architectural style.

The gorgeous 1930s hotels lining Ocean Drive sport tropical motifs and whimsical nautical elements, with their iconic pastel shades creating a cinematic backdrop for visitors’ wanderings.

And you don’t have to see these architectural beauties at arm’s length, either.

Lavishly restored, the art deco and mid-century modern hotels are also mingling spots for locals and out-of-towners alike, with sunny poolside terraces, artfully-designed dining rooms and plush nightclubs.

Chalk it all up to Miami’s diverse population, or perhaps its love of always being on the cutting edge. Whatever the reason, creativity is one of the enduring hallmarks of this city.
