Shots fired at Larnaca home

ΠΥΡΟΒΟΛΙΣΜΟΙ ΡΙΧΘΗΚΑΝ ΣΕ ΟΙΚΙΑ ΣΤΗ ΛΑΡΝΑΚΑ

Larnaca police are looking for a man who allegedly fired shots at the house of a 39-year-old early on Friday.

The complainant called the police around 1.30am, ten minutes after an unknown person fired shots at the front of his property near the Larnaca port.

According to police, the shots were fired with an automatic firearm at the ground floor of the property where the parents of the 39-year-old reside, as well as the first floor where he lives with his wife and child.

No injuries occurred, while the exterior and interior of the two houses suffered damages as well as the vehicle of the mother of the 39-year-old which was parked in front of the house.

During the search, police located bullet shells in the area and unused cartridges.

The area has been cordoned off by the police and is being guarded.

Examinations in the area stopped overnight and resumed in the morning.

Meanwhile in Aradipou at 5.30 on Thursday, police found a hidden nylon bag containing 270 bullets of various calibres near the Larnaca Nicosia motorway.

The bullets were seized for judicial and scientific examinations, while examinations continue.
