Teen’s uncle fined for allowing him to drive illegally

Larnaca court

A 46-year-old man who allowed his 13-year-old nephew to drive his car was fined €800 and had his licence revoked for one month by the Larnaca district court on Tuesday.

The minor was caught driving at 82kph on a road where the maximum speed limit is 65kph by the Larnaca traffic police early on Monday.

His uncle was at the passenger seat and two others, aged 20 and 19, were in the back seat.

The car did not have an MOT or road tax.

All adult passengers were fined €300 each for breaking Covid decrees.

The 46-year-old was also fined €300 for allowing a minor to drive without a licence, another €300 because the minor did not have insurance and €200 for driving without road tax.
