Police suspect they found drone drug dealer

A 27-year-old man already in police custody has been rearrested as a suspect in the case involving moving cannabis with a drone last month, Nicosia police said on Saturday.

A second suspect, a 45-year-old man was also arrested on Friday on suspicion of drug and firearm possession in connection with the younger man’s arrest on February 21.

According to the police, witness testimony has now connected the 27-year-old man with the case involving a drone found on January 12 by a Nicosia resident, which was loaded with 60 grammes of cannabis.

The younger suspect was first arrested early on February 21 in connection with illegal drug, firearm and explosives possession.

During a search in his house, the drug squad found a loaded pistol with seven cartridges, €4,750 in cash, one and a half gramme of white powder and two packages containing about 25 grammes of weed.
