Sofia Vergara helped raise over $152m for small businesses

In this video, Colombian-American actress, TV producer and presenter Sofia Vergara shares with People about her role in helping non-profit organisation Kiva launch the COVID-19 response fund.

Thanks to her involvement, Kiva has, to date, raised over $152 million for business owners – from seamstresses in Tajikistan, to bakers in El Salvador – who might have been ruined by the pandemic.

Based in California, Kiva’s mission is to make it possible for people to lend money to low-income entrepreneurs and students worldwide, in the form of online micro-loans.
