Suspended in time: an over-under trail of Cyprus bridges

Despite the present Covid-related travel restrictions, the beautiful natural and urban areas of Cyprus are still accessible to us through the lenses of local creators.

In this video, travel group Idyllic Cyprus sets off on a trail of the island’s bridges, constructed in different eras, notably from the time of Venetian rule (1489-1571).

Thanks to the island’s rich history, and beyond their more ‘pedestrian’ role spanning rivers and inclement terrain, local bridges can be thought of as suspended in time, allowing passersby an encounter with an age very different to their own.
