The bill for the creation of a separate ministry of culture was approved by the cabinet on Wednesday, Education minister Prodromos Prodromou announced on Twitter.

Culture currently comes under the education ministry.

The bill will be submitted to Parliament for approval, Prodromou said.

“Today we are taking an important step for the state’s policy on culture. The Council of Ministers approved the @cymoec bill for the creation of a ministry of culture,” Prodromou said in his tweet.
