An introduction to the ancient healing system of Ayurveda

This video is meant to expand your general knowledge about living a healthy life and is NOT a substitute for seeking medical advice. Please consult with your doctor before making changes in your health practices, diet and self-care.

Ayurvedic medicine – ‘Ayurveda’ for short – is one of the world’s oldest holistic or ‘whole-body’ healing systems, having been developed thousands of years ago in India.

But while this life science has become increasingly popular worldwide over the last few decades, thanks to the rise of its sister science, yoga, many people in the West know little about it.

So, in this video, Ayurvedic practitioner and Banyan Research Director Vrinda Devani discusses the key aspects of the system, explaining its doshas of vata, pitta, and kapha, and sharing how Ayurveda can promote health and wellbeing.
