Police said officers had intercepted a scooter at around 4.30pm after a tip off and found the rider, a 21-year-old man, in possession of some 1.2 kilos of cannabis.

Officers seized the drugs along with €220 in cash found on the suspect.

The man was arrested, as police searched the flat where he lives with a 21-year-old woman. During the search, police said they found eight grammes of cannabis and a grinder with traces of the drug.
