Nine migrants, all male, arrived on Tuesday early afternoon in Protaras, police said.

Their vessel was spotted at around noon off Cape Greco. A marine police vessel escorted their boat, the engine of which had broken down, to the Golden Coast fishing shelter in Protaras. Their nationality is not yet known, police said.

After the necessary procedures are carried out, they are expected to be taken to the migrant reception centre in Kokkinotrimithia, in Nicosia.
