Cyprus Institute summer internships

pr cyprus institute

The Cyprus Institute (CyI) announces it is accepting applications for the 2021 summer internship programme. Due to the peculiarities caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cyprus Institute provides the possibility of remote participation in many of the research programmes offered.

The aim of the programme is to give the opportunity to young qualified students or graduates to experience an international research experience, which will encourage them in the search and pursuit of a scientific career. The selected individuals will have the opportunity to conduct research under the guidance of a mentor, to become acquainted with the latest research methods and techniques, and to gain access to the state-of-the-art facilities of the Cyprus Institute (unless remotely participating in research selection programme). It is also noted that this year the summer internship programme will be open for administrative positions.

Choice of research programmes

The interns will have the opportunity to choose the topic of the internship through the list of research projects which is posted on the website of the Cyprus Institute or to suggest their own research topic, provided the institute is able to provide supervision and has the facilities to accommodate it. If necessary, most research programmes may be offered remotely due to the special situation resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. More information can be found under each research programme. It is noted that additional research projects / programmes may be posted in the coming weeks, so for the latest updates you can visit the website of the Cyprus Institute.

Programme dates and duration

The summer internship programme lasts about eight weeks.

Start of the programme: June 1

Completion of the programme: September 30

The individuals who will be selected will have the opportunity to modify the duration of their programme in consultation with their mentor.
