Tenders for next phase of Larnaca road

Tenders will be launched next month for the €17m phase three of the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, the transport ministry said on Monday.

It said the e-procurement document is expected to be published on June 25.

The project covers the stretch from the roundabout near the Larnaca sailing association to the junction leading to Pyla. Most of it is within Voroklini but a small section goes through Pyla community and the municipalities of Livadia and Larnaca.

The main road network (some 3.5 km long) includes four lanes, a traffic island in the middle, paved pavements, cycle paths, green areas, Pelican pedestrian crossings, bus stops, parking bays and four roundabouts. The secondary road network (service roads 4.5 km) includes or two lanes, paved pavements, parking bays and Zebra pedestrian crossings.

Also part of the project are three culverts for drainage to the sea, green areas, a new irrigation, water supply and recycled water system, street lighting and signage.
