The health ministry on Saturday announced there had been no new deaths from Covid-19 while 56 people tested positive from 56,456 PCR and rapid tests. a positivity rate of 0.1 per cent.
There are 74 people in hospitals, of whom 30 are in serious condition and 18 are intubated.
The death toll remains at 360, of which 240 were men (67%), and 120 women (33%). The average age of those who died was 78.
Of the 56,456 tests on Saturday, 4,764 were PCR and 51,692 antigen rapid tests, yielding 56 positives.
- 1 case from 79 samples taken through contact tracing
- 4 from 2,960 samples taken at the two airports
- 11 from 1,535 samples taken through private initiative.
- 1 from 111 samples processed at hospital labs
- 1 from 57 samples taken under GP referrals
- 2 from 447 samples tested at private labs and pharmacies.
- 36 from 51,245 samples taken through the ministry’s rapid test programme
Of the 36 positives detected under the latter, 16 were in Nicosia (positivity 0.09), Limassol 13 (0.11) Larnaca 1 (0.01), Famagusta 2 (0.05), Paphos zero. Four positives were found in workplaces.
