The Cyprus peace process was among the issues which the G7 summit host, British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, discussed with the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres.

Downing Street said that Johnson gave his support to Guterres’ vision for a more integrated UN and reiterated the UK’s support for a strong United Nations and joined-up global action on issues like pandemic preparedness and climate change.

They also discussed a future treaty on pandemic preparedness and plans for the UK-hosted COP26 Summit in climate change later this year.

“They discussed a number of international issues including the situations in Yemen, Syria and Libya, the Cyprus peace process, the need for a return to democracy in Myanmar and Afghanistan,” Downing Street added.
