Road accident leaves 22-year-old dead

A 22-year-old man, Rafael Grigoriou, lost his life on Friday evening in a traffic accident near Pera Chorio when the vehicle in which he was a passengers collided with another car.

According to police, the car he was in was being driven by a 21-year-old woman on Dimokratias Street in Nisou heading in the direction of Pera Chorio. At an intersection, the car collided with another driven by a  37-year-old woman.

Grigoriou, from Latsia, had to be cut free from the car by the fire brigade.

All three were taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital where the young man was pronounced dead.

The two women, after receiving first aid were discharged.
