The Isle of Man students who care for bees

In this video, we pay a pre-Covid visit to the Isle of Man’s Buchan School, where students learn how to keep and care for honeybees.

Open to students in year 6 (age 10+), the Buchan School’s beekeeping club members inspect colonies, talk about honeybees, build frames and even extract honey. The aim of the club is to support the precious insects, educate on their importance and help kids overcome their fears of the buzzing honey-makers.
