JustNiki Episode 3: Stephan and Kyriako Caras

In this episode of her fashion-focused YouTube series, stylist Niki Charalambous speaks with prominent father and son designers, Stephan and Kyriako Caras.

The Greek-born elder Caras is the internationally-renowned couturier behind some of the world’s most sophisticated and distinctive creations. His Toronto-based label is synonymous with elegance, class and self-assurance, and is a statement of inner beauty and sensuality.

Here, Niki invites the two designers to elaborate on what fashion means to them, their defining moments, and the approach they take to the high-quality work that defines their unique brand.

“We don’t follow trends. I personally have never followed trends … all I care is to create something that is beautiful, that is feminine; femininity never goes out of style, from day one, and will never go out of style,” says Stephan of his modus operandi. “Women want to look feminine.”

And the concern for the ultimate wearer is paramount for Kyriako in turn.

“Fashion is about making people feel better, or evoking some kind of emotion from within – and that’s what it comes down to: understanding who you’re working with, in order to make them feel the best,” says the younger Caras.
