22 migrants found in Limnitis area

Twenty-two migrants, including five women and four children, arrived in the Limnitis area, police said early on Tuesday.

After the migrants were spotted in Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias around 8am, the president of the community council Nicos Kleanthous said they were taken to the local police station for identification. They were expected to be transferred to a reception centre.

Kleanthous reiterated the need to increase controls at sea and land as migrants are often found in the remote area of Tylliria.

Another 21 migrants were found in the area about ten days ago, with Kleanthous raising the alarm again saying they enter the government-control areas through the north.
