Exploring the Vltava River Trail in South Bohemia

In this video, Janek Rubes, co-host from the Czech HONEST GUIDE YouTube travel channel, takes us on an adventurous summer bike ride along South Bohemia’s lush Vltava Trail.

The trail follows the Vltava River, which starts in České Budějovice, passes through Hluboká nad Vltavou, Purkarec and Týn nad Vltavou, until, near Kořensko, it turns off along the Lužnice River in Koloděje nad Lužnící, where Mitrowicz Castle is located.

The route covers the upper portion of the Vltava waterway, and offers, in addition to cycling options, opportunities for boating, kayaking, camping, and more rigorous via ferrata hiking.
