DP World Limassol’s CEO, Nawaf Abdulla presented the latest developments in the digital transformation of the Limassol port, at a special event held recently at the Cyprus Marine Club in Limassol.

In his presentation, titled “Advancing Limassol Port Operating Environment”, Abdulla talked about the features of the port’s new Terminal Operating System (TOS), which went live a few months ago, as well as about upcoming digitisation projects.

Highlighting the importance of digitisation and automation, Abdulla said that they add value to the port’s operations, enabling the exchange of data, while reducing costs, increasing transparency, efficiency and improving the consistency of performance.

The presentation was attended by several members of the Club, including key stakeholders from the local maritime community, while its purpose was to inform them about the company’s latest technological innovations aimed at making the Limassol port more user friendly, efficient, and productive.

The audience, which included shipowners, ship management firms and other key stakeholders of the industry, had the opportunity to discuss and exchange views with DP World Limassol’s CEO as part of a dedicated Q&A session at the end of the presentation.

Abdulla pointed out that “As a competitive and forward-thinking business, DP World has always invested heavily in state-of-the-art digital equipment and is continuously introducing new innovations in terminal operations that boost resilience and automation, thereby allowing the organisation to evolve and enhance the services it offers its customers and partners. The newly developed TOS at DP World Limassol will boost the efficiency and productivity of the terminal, while improving the customer experience. Many of the administrative duties of terminal staff will now be automated, freeing the team to focus on efficiency, quality, and customer service.”

DP World Limassol has made important strides in the digital transformation of the port, continuously introducing new innovations that enhance automation as well as boost the port’s resilience. “I hope that all port users will benefit from an enhanced experience through our recently launched cloud-based operating system. I am confident that by working together we can turn the Limassol port into a world-class smart port and a major port of choice in the Eastern Mediterranean”, he added.
