Mora Thavmata association has donated an €11,000 non-invasive respiratory support device for newborns to the Makarios children’s hospital.
The new donation is the third new generation device donated to the public hospital by the association, which aims to contribute to the expansion of the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
The device was submitted to the head of the ICU neonatal unit of the Nicosia-based hospital, Dr Thalia Papadouri by the president of the association Elena Megalemou.
The purchase of the device was partly funded by Mitsides group which donated two cents from every flour package sale in April.
Under the slogan “knead together with love for the miracles of life”, the Mitsides group participated in the campaign for the support of premature babies for a fifth consequent year.
During the informal ceremony, Mora Thavmata president thanked Mitsides company and the public who embraced the campaign.
