Performance is about more than Just a Bottle

To change it up this weekend a special performance is being staged at Theatro Polis OPAP. On Friday and Saturday Just a Bottle? is coming to Nicosia. Andreas Kentis and Claudia Bruno, assisted by Yannis Hadjiparaskevas, present the work-in-progress after a two-week residency at NIMAC within the Programme for Performing and Live Arts.

The performance will start at 8pm on both evenings and its themes cover various topics, those that are difficult to explain and are simply felt and experienced. “The sea, the waves,” say the artists, “a new continent of floating plastic and underneath, underneath the tourist boats taking Instagram photos, underneath the turtles eating straws, next to the shells are dreams. The dreams that will never be fulfilled, next to the bodies that will never age.”

This is how they describe Just a bottle?, in an abstract, you-have-to-see-it-to-understand-it kind of manner. The performance will only be on for two evenings so if you want to explore how the sea, a goddess, tourists and floating bodies come together, make sure to book a place.
