Man arrested for car arson

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of car arson that took place in Limassol back in April, police said on Wednesday.

According to the authorities, a fire was set in a car that was parked in the parking space at the house of a 72-year-old woman in Limassol around 11am on April 30.

The woman, together with her husband extinguished the fire and notified the authorities.

The car suffered some damage near the boot and back seats.

Examinations by the fire service and police later that day revealed the fire had been set maliciously.

Nicosia CID arrested the 21-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon after some evidence linked him with the crime in Limassol.
