UCLan Cyprus partners with Aradippou municipality

UCLan Cyprus University has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Aradippou municipality to promote joint actions for education, culture and research.

The memorandum is expected to reinforce the productive collaboration between the Larnaca-based university and the municipality and promote the implementation of additional activities of common interest.

A comprehensive action plan has already been put in place, which includes the promotion of education, through the organisation of seminars, events and forums aimed at youth, participation in research and innovation initiatives, the cultivation and promotion of opportunities for academic empowerment and local development prospects for the municipality of Aradippou, a press release said.

For UCLan Cyprus University, the signing of the memorandum with the municipality of Aradippou confirms the university’s strategy to support municipalities and communities in various ways.

“Through the partnership, we aim to strengthen our relations by promoting ideas with a direct positive impact for the residents of Aradippou and for the university itself,” the president of UCLan Cyprus Floros Voniatis said during the signing of the memorandum.

Aradippou’s mayor, Evangelos Evangelidis, said that the common goal is to promote educational and cultural cooperation.

“I am confident that the memorandum will further strengthen and deepen the long-standing cooperation of the municipality with UCLan Cyprus University of our local community,” he said.
