Overnight yellow alert in effect until 6am Thursday

Τhe met office has issued a new yellow warning for high temperatures.

The alert will be in effect until 6am on Thursday.

According to the warning, temperatures are not expected to fall below 27C overnight, both inland and in coastal areas.

Earlier on Wednesday, the forestry department issued a red alert for fires as scorching heat is set to affect the island in the coming days.
