Teenager injured in hit and run

A 17-year-old teenager was seriously injured in a hit and run early on Thursday in Paphos.

According to police, an unidentified driver hit a boy who was walking on Makariou avenue a few minutes before 3am. The driver then abandoned the scene.

The boy was not walking on the road, police said, but without specifying if he was on the sidewalk.

He was transferred to the accidents and emergency department of the district’s general hospital where doctors diagnosed him with a spinal fracture.

The driver of the vehicle is being sought by the police.
