30 days jail for drink driver

The Larnaca district court has sentenced a 41-year-old man who was driving under the influence to 30 days in prison.

The man has also had his licence suspended for three months and has had eight points added.

He was caught after losing control of his car in Pervolia and crashing into a pole before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

After arriving at the scene, police determined that the man had not suffered any injuries and subjected him to a breath alcohol test which showed that his alcohol level was 128 mg/l, 102 mg/l over the limit.
