Paphos police seek rape suspect

Police in Paphos are seeking a 24-year-old man, suspected of raping a young woman last Sunday.

According to the account of the 22-year-old alleged rape victim, the incident occurred around 11pm on September 12. The man – whom she knew – had offered to escort her home. Once there, he forced her into sexual intercourse.

The woman is to be examined by a forensic pathologist.

Police meanwhile have secured an arrest warrant for the alleged perpetrator, but had not located him by Thursday evening.
