Passengers moved from Paphos airport departure area during security check, false alarm

Police on Friday evening asked passengers at Paphos airport’s departures area leave after an object was located in a luggage that looked like an explosive device.

The incident was over within minutes after a check revealed it was in fact a laptop with its cables, police said.

According to information from the police, during luggage check, it was not clearly seen what the item was in the x-ray imaging with officers being alerted. People were asked to leave the area.

After opening the luggage, officers found a laptop with its cables.
