Coronavirus: Fines to 30 individuals, four businesses for health and safety violations

Police said Saturday they have reported 30 individuals and four businesses in the past 24 hours for various violations of Covid measures.

Officers carried out 2,831 checks across the Republic, with most bookings taking place in Famagusta.

In a written statement, police said they carried out 702 checks in Nicosia, issuing fines to seven individuals and one establishment. In Limassol, officers fined nine people after 258 checks while Larnaca police booked two individuals following 490 checks.

Paphos police fined three businesses and one individual in 383 checks while Famagusta officers booked 11 people after 528 checks.

No violations were reported in the Morphou area nor during checks carried out by traffic and marine police officers.
