pasy2

The Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (Pasykaf) launched the 30th awareness and fundraising campaign on Thursday that will last through October.

The campaign, Together through Life, aims to collect €550,000, “to continue providing free services to people with cancer, and to keep upgrading its programmes” Pasykaf president Dr Anna Achilleoudi said, adding that the association remained true to its vision despite the pandemic and the increased demands.

A number of events will take place across the island, including a 10km cycling tour, under the auspices of the Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantelas.

Last year, Pasykaf spent €3.5m to meet the needs of 6,723 patients and their relatives, through 40,796 meetings held throughout Cyprus.

The services, which are offered free of charge by various health professionals, include home support and palliative care, psychosocial support, physiotherapy, and post-therapeutic support and support for loss, among others.

This year, due to the pandemic, donations to Pasykaf can be made by sending a text to 7060 with the code PASYKAF 5, 3, or 1.

People interested in participating in Pasykaf events, or as volunteers can contact 77771986 or www.pasykaf.org
