Paphos police report 47 traffic violations in 24 hours

Paphos police issued 47 fines for traffic violations in 24 hours, with more than half concerning speeding.

The violations were identified during a police campaign for the prevention of crime and traffic collisions that was carried out between 6am on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.

During the campaign, 24 drivers were booked for violating the maximum speed limit, three fines were issued for reckless driving and 17 for other traffic offences.

One driver was booked for drink driving, another was fined for failing to wear a seatbelt, while a motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet was also booked, police said.

Three traffic collisions were recorded during the same time, including two which resulted in injuries.

Police reiterated that the campaigns will continue at a later stage.
