Three small festivals not to miss

The events just keep rolling in as October is proving to be one of the busiest months so far! Three small-scale festivals are coming up, entertaining antique car lovers, beer enthusiasts and those seeking to disconnect and connect in the woods.

The Autumn Mini Festival within the Moniatis forest at the Nature and Spirit venue will kick off this Saturday and will include a market filled with local produce, artists’ creations and all sorts of handcrafted goods. From 10am until late at night, stalls will be set up selling second-hand clothing, jewellery, natural cosmetics and more while others will host workshops based on creativity, playfulness and expression. Plant-based food, smoothies, fresh juices and teas will be sold and for those that want to spend the night, a camping area is available to host them. The events will continue the following day as the venue hosts a co-creative community gathering with other workshops, a talking circle, jamming and more.

Also on this weekend is an event for the beer lovers of Nicosia. Coffee shop-bar 7 Kleidia is organising a mini beer festival on Sunday with the beers of the Greek microbrewery Septem. Seven draft beers and six bottled beers will be the stars of the event, which begins at 3pm and will go on until 11pm. And to accompany the drinks, handmade sausages with leeks and dowsed in beer will be especially made for the festival and served on request!

Towards the end of the month, another festival is arriving, but this one is rather different from the rest. Ayia Napa’s Motor Festival is all about antique cars that will take over parking grounds opposite the Greek Lyceum from October 27 to 31.

An exhibition with all sorts of vintage cars and motors will take place while local DJs play foreign and Greek music. The aim, according to deputy mayor Antonis Christou is to present to the public new and old models of cars, motorcycles and antique cars so that visitors can get to know and admire the old and the new era.
